F.A.Q.

1. Can I see other projects you have completed?
Yes. We have several clients that have been gracious enough over the years to welcome potential clients into their homes to view the work we have done. Of course you can always view pictures of past projects on our Project Gallery page.

2. Can we change things along the way once the project has started?
Yes. We try to be as flexible with our clients as possible. Discussions of changes are always welcome; however, they can result in cost differences and schedule changes. We will always do our best to satisfy when humanly possible.

3. Will Wood 'N Nail Builders, Inc. do all the work on a project?
No. We do use licensed and insured subs to do the work on electrical and plumbing. We will also use various roofers, painters and insulation specialists depending on the scope or a project.

4. Can we use a plumber or electrician of our choosing?
We prefer to work with subs that we have used in the past and are familiar with the quality of their work. We will, however, do our best to work with you if you have a special relation ship with someone in the trades.

5. Will you stay on the job site once you get there?
Yes. Many times this is the biggest concern of our clients. We do try to be as efficient with out time and resources as possible. We will always stay on a job once we arrive, barring any unforeseen circumstances. We do however respect the work of our subs and will move to another site while they are on the job site if it is warranted. Having too many workers doing different things at once can cause unsafe situations and slow the entire process.

6. What if you find rot or insect infestation once you open a wall or roof?
This will happen from time to time. We will assess the situation, talk with you the homeowner, come up with the cost to repair, and let you make the final decision.

7. How do I pay for work? Do I pay subs separately or do I give one check to Wood 'N Nail Builders, Inc.?
Payment schedules are flexible depending on the project. Generally we will receive 50% at the start of the project, 25% when the project is halfway complete, and the remaining 25% upon completion. Construction loans will often be handled by a bank and go directly to us. If you so choose to pay subs directly, we will arrange for that in the beginning of the project.

8. Can I, as a homeowner, help with a project?
In most cases this is not something we encourage. A homeowner is not covered by our insurance and in many cases is unfamiliar with our tools and procedures. Injuries can occur, materials wasted and tools broken. There are times, however, when some money can be saved if a homeowner wishes to do some things on their own. Small demolition, painting, clean up, etc. are examples of these areas. We try to always discuss these options up front and ask that they be adhered throughout a project.

9. Will you be in our homes when we are not there?
Generally speaking we are in most homes while the homeowners are at work or out of town. If you prefer o be there we can do our very best to schedule times that will be convenient for all parties involved.

10. Can I speak to references?
Absolutely! We pride ourselves on the type of work we do and how we do it. Any potential clients of ours can get a lengthy list of references from present and former clients of ours, including phone numbers, so that you can speak to them directly. Our best advertising is through our satisfied customers.
